Crochet Pattern: The Trailing Leaf Market Bag
Please note this listing is for a digital crochet PDF PATTERN which will be immediately downloadable, not a finished item!
❉ What you get:
Create a whimsical and useful Trailing Leaf Market Bag for yourself with this highly detailed 14 Page pattern packed with photos, instructions and diagrams! *Every step of this pattern is included in fully written out instructions. You can complete this pattern without paying the diagrams any attention. So if diagrams aren’t your thing- no worries!*
The Trailing Leaf Market Bag is not only great as a farmer's market tote or reusable and foldable grocery bag, but it also works perfectly as a crochet project or WIP bag- or general use slouchy shoulder bag! It’s quick-to-work-up nature also means it is ideal for gifts.
My favourite aspect of this bag is that it works with ANY weight of yarn and appropriate hook size (read below). Its size-customization means it works with any yarn: perfect for stash-busting and sustainability!
❉ Supplies Needed:
Hook - One size less (0.5mm) than the recommended hook size for your chosen yarn.
Yarn - This project will work with ANY yarn weight and fibre! Though I particularly recommend plant fibres (cotton, bamboo, jute and blends) for strength and durability. Lots of more detailed advice on yarn selection is given in the pattern.
Notions - Yarn needle and scissors essential. Stitch markers useful but not essential.
For the bag depicted in the listing photos and pattern, I used: 200g Rico Creative Cotton Aran in colourway 'Pearl Grey' and a 4.5mm hook.
❉ Experience Level:
Like all of my patterns, this pattern was designed with intermediate crafters in mind. However, this is by far one of my easiest patterns.
You will still need to know basic crochet stitches (including increase/decrease), how to work with a magic ring, how to repeat steps and how to read crochet abbreviations using a key.
Every step of this pattern is included in fully written out instructions, but crochet stitch diagrams are also included for some sections, and I recommend using them in conjunction with written steps to make the trailing leaf lace section a breeze!
❉ Sizing:
This pattern is adaptable to make a bag of any size by repeating certain steps as few or as many times as you like.
❉ Pattern Notes:
This pattern uses US crochet terms.
